Hi Gary, My name is James and I found your site while I was
searching for "fish experts." I'm not sure if you can help me with my
problem, but here it is. I am raising 6 comet fishes and one of them got
bitten pretty badly at the gill area. It's still alive and fine, but
there's this giant bite mark covering one of it's gill. Is there anyway I
can close up the wound? If you know, please reply ASAP. I dont want the
other fishes to try to bite at the wound. Thank you, James
Hi James, Try Melafix from your local pet store, use as
directed. Good Luck, Gary
Hi Gary, Thanks a lot!
James Did this work? When I got your first email I was on the run,
but like I said Melafix is the best for bites, scrapes, or any open sore.
It's good stuff. Good Luck, Gary
Hi Gary, I have been treating my fish for ick and have apparently
been dyeing my decor green... I was wondering if you could tell me what
paint is safe for fish so I can repaint my ornaments. Thanks Aphroditee
Aphroditee Paint that is fired at your local ceramic shop will work.
They can tell you what kind, but time will usually fade the methylene blue
out of the decor. Good Luck, Gary
Hi Gary, I have had a tank with 2 oscars in it for about 5 months
and ever since I got it the tank has been kind of cloudy and there seems
to be like a film on the top and the water smells bad do you know what the
the reasons for this can be Thanx Mathew
Mathew Have you done regular water changes? What kind of food do you
feed? Smells bad like: Wet dirt, moldy, some thing dead? Give me more info
I will try to help. Good Luck, Gary
Gary, I have a 250 gallon tank for almost 2 years. 2 days ago I
notice that my fish were on top in a group. They all turned dark what can
that be? Can you help? Whats wrong with them? Jose
Jose Have you tested for nitrates? That is what it sounds like to
me. Is there a dead fish in your tank down in the decorations? If not
that, where did the oxygen go? Good Luck, Gary
